Stephen Kostyo

Stephen is an Impact Fellow at the Federation of American Scientists detailed to the U.S. Department of Education. He previously served as a Senior Policy Advisor at the Learning Policy Institute and Legislative Assistant for Congressman Tim Ryan from Ohio. Kostyo has also been an Adjunct Instructor at American University since 2019. Before entering education policy, Kostyo taught middle and high school math and science--winning a "Charlottesville High School Teacher of the Year" award in 2015.  While in high school Kostyo participated in the National We the People competition. Since then, he has served as a judge at the national finals.
