Karissa Smith

Karissa's passion for public service and civic engagement started when she participated in her high school's We the People program, competing at nationals and earning the Unit 5 award. After studying Geology and Urban Planning at Western Washington University, Karissa continued her goal of serving her community as an Emergency Manager, helping people prepare for and respond to disasters. When she's not busy with work, she enjoys hiking with her dog Hazel, running her D&D campaign, and playing trivia.
